Experience an exhilarating 2,300 foot ride down Spruce Peak on the Stowe Alpine Slide. Fun and excitement for all ages! Adult 1 ride tickets are $14, Junior (6-12 years) are $10. Three ride tickets are also available for $28 (adult) or $24 (junior). Open daily 10 am - 5 pm, June 25 through September 5 and weekends September 10 - October 16.
The historic auto toll road zigs and zags its way to the summit ridge of Mt. Mansfield where stunning views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains await you. One of Vermont's most unique summer attractions, The Famous Mount Mansfield Toll Road, allows visitors to drive their cars to the top of the state's highest peak, where they can enjoy the magnificent views or have easy access to summit hiking trails. The Toll Road was originally built in 1856 as the carriage road which brought guests to the Summit House Hotel.
Stowe is home to Cottonbrook, Vermont's first marked mountain-bike trail on state land. The trail was built as a joint project between Stowe and the Vermont Trails and Greenways Council. Other sanctioned mountain-bike trails are Old County Road, Stowe Hollow and Brownsville. The Stowe Mountain Bike Club is a dedicated group of individuals who are committed to preserving, protecting and maintaining the local trail network.

Before a road system was developed in our area, the Native Americans used the rivers as a major mode of transportation. We have no doubt that they mixed a certain element of fun into their travels! You, too, can experience the freedom and beauty that they did as you float through the magnificent Green Mountains. 
The activity of “running dogs” is getting more and more popular as people are discovering the distinctive appeal of being swiftly transported by dog sled through the picturesque snow-covered wilderness. There really is nothing like being pulled or riding the runners behind a friendly and enthusiastic team of sled dogs. Their sense of team work, camaraderie, and extraordinary power will astound you. 
This decade has seen Stowe experience a remarkable renaissance of one of man's oldest pastimes - the timeless art of fishing. Even more remarkable has been the growth of flyfishing as a profession in Stowe including Catamount Fishing Adventures and Fly Fish Vermont.
